Lucy Liddle has been working as a private chef since 2004.

Growing up in Scotland, she began her career in the kitchen cooking in lodges on private estates in the Highlands.

She headed out to the French Alps in 2004 for her first winter season as chalet chef, and there, found her love of the mountains and the lifestyle & sports they offer. Returning for many winters & eventually summers too, Lucy met her now husband and has settled in a small village between Meribel & Courchevel where they live year round.

Always fond of travel and experiencing cuisines and cultures from around the world, and with a great sense of adventure and love of a challenge, Lucy has taken on many diverse jobs across the globe over the years. 

She spent 6 months in Hokkaido, Japan, working in a Japanese fusion restaurant where she also set up an in-house dining service for the restaurant.

She spent 2 seasons cooking in an extremely remote fishing camp in the Russian Arctic Circle, creating menus from very limited produce and using what she could of the native ingredients of the tundra.

She also spent time in British Columbia, Canada, helping to set up and then run a ski touring lodge accessible only by helicopter. As well as the challenge of provisioning by helicopter once a week, the lodge had no electricity or running water. She spent the winter designing menus for extreme sports athletes with the aim of providing them with enough nutritious fuel for their adventures.

Other jobs include a summer season cooking on a super yacht in the Mediterranean, catering on a private island in the Bahamas, cooking for high profile clients in their London residences, and many summers cooking in luxury villas for private clients.

In more recent years, Lucy has taken a deeper interest in catering for specific dietary requirements, and has a passion for cooking vegetarian, vegan & plant based meals, and catering for those with allergies & intolerances.

In 2020, she undertook a course in Food & Nutrition with Leiths School of Cookery.

She now caters for several retreats in France & Spain creating healthy, colourful, nutritious meals.

She also has a keen interest in food & wine pairings and has her WSET Level 2.

Based from her home in the alps, Lucy is now available for bookings in Meribel & Courchevel during the winter season. The rest of the year, she is available for bookings for retreats, villa holidays, summer chalets holidays, private houses, lodges, or wherever else your travels might take you.
